Purpose:
To lead the church family in worship through music that glorifies God and prepares hearts to receive the Word. This role provides musical leadership, helps build a culture of praise, and supports the church’s mission to grow deeper in Christ and live lives worthy of the gospel.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead worship with piano or acoustic guitar during Sunday services, some Wednesday gatherings, and special events.

• Support the Director of Worship in selecting Christ-centered, gospel-aligned songs that are easy to sing and spiritually rich.

• Coordinate with the Director of Worship to align worship songs with sermon themes or Scripture.

• Prepare spiritually and musically each week to lead with excellence and humility under the guidance of the Music Director.

• Encourage congregational singing and a heart posture of worship.

 

Team Collaboration:

• Rehearse with other singers or instrumentalists as needed.

• Coordinate with the sound/media volunteer to ensure smooth transitions.

• Be available for weekly rehearsals on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM and as needed, as well as for sound check prior to services.

 

Spiritual and Relational Expectations:

• Exhibit a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Model a lifestyle of worship and faith both on and off the platform.

• Serve with humility, joy, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.

• Encourage unity and love within the church body and become an integral part of our church family.

 

Additional Notes:

• The worship team currently is a team of 3 to 4 people, rotating or leading together as needed.

• Simplicity is welcome: even one voice and one instrument can lead powerfully.

• Flexibility is key as the worship ministry develops.

 

Time Commitment:
4–6 hours/week including personal practice, rehearsal, and Sunday morning setup/sound check.
